The food was amazing and the chateau was beautiful.
Unfortunately we were there on a very hot day. Our room was quite uncomfortable due to the heat. I would suggest that the hotel maintain fans for untypically hot days.
Nd the total ambience.
This is not a complaint but a suggestion to rectify a problem we occasioned: we arrived just before eleven (tremendous trouble finding your place in the dark) and the gate was closed by 10:30. we had no way to alert you other than honking our horn and yelling loudly. Awful situation. You should install an intercom at the gate if you intend to close the gates prior to the time at which you expect guests to arrive.
Hotel is charming. Property and grounds are beautiful. Location is very convenient for visiting all D-day battle sites. Employees were friendly, helpful and spoke very good English.
Restaurant and cocktail lounge are very, very expensive. Food and liquor tab far exceeded the cost of the room. No prices in the lounge --- learned cost of drinks, wine, etc. upon check-out -- Wow! . Although dinner is very good, the menu is limited. After two days we made other dinner plans. Breakfast is clearly overpriced for what is available.
The facility is beautiful everything one would imagine for a Country side Chateau, the people were great and the food and wine were expensive but worth every cent. I would easily stay there again.
I can't think of anything, the location was excellent
beautiful setting, grounds and chateau. Nice dining room and good breakfast. Did not try dinner there. Short drive into Bayeux for activities. room had nice appointments.
Room was small for the money. Bathroom was also a bit small.
Chateau De Sully is a short ride outside the beautiful and historic town of Bayeau and situated in the south part of Normandy. This means that it is a great location to use as a stop over if crossing the Chanel from Caen, Le Havre or Cherbourg. It is a great location to explore the beaches and seems a popular destination for Americans who have obviously heard that the staff all seem to speak English. If you just want to relax in the hotel the rooms are nice (but don't expect to be able to watch tv), the pool is lovely, the setting is beautiful and the restaurant is wonderful.
The wine list focuses on superb wine without offering a drinkable everyday choice. This means that the wine choices start at about 50Euro.
Beautiful chateau and grounds, excellent room and lounge area. Lovely pool etc
Gym equipment very average. It would be nice to be able to make tea/coffee in rooms.
The atmosphere, eye to detail, chateau building and grounds were magnificent. Staff are very well trained and excellent dining facilities.
It would be good to have tea/ coffee making facilities as we were in rooms separate to the main chateau and had to walk across for a coffee. Directions on how to locate the chateau if you are driving would also have been helpful as the address did not help the GPS or us. It was fortunate that I had an international phone service and called the chateau for directions - staff spoke excellent English.
The setting and gardens were stunning. We had dinner at the hotel. The meal was excellent and beautifully presented. All the unexpected extras that came with meal were much appreciated as well. We regret that we did not have time to stay more than one night or to take advantage of the pool. We would certainly recommend the Chateay De Sully to friends planning on visiting France.
The only problem is that the Chateau was not too easy to find. You may want to improve the directions provided.
Chateau De Sully is a luxury hotel with very good facilities and is ideally placed for the Normandy beaches we had several meals there in the evening and were excellent.
The breakfast did not always start on time ie 8.00 am, i only mention this as we had three 8-30 am pickups to go to the normandy beaches
Drinks and breakfast very expensive and breakfast not very nice
The restaurant was amazing! We had the most incredinly deliecious diners there. Felt like royalty. If you book, you must request the main building. You will feel like royalty.
Visited area with 9 year old son .Hotel staff very friendly ( not always the case when young child with you) .Room very nice.Food good .Swimming pool went down well with boy .Ideally positioned for d Day tour and tapestry . Will return with whole family in due course .
Zip code as accurate as a county
Excellent location and restaurant. Helpful staff both hotel and restaurant. Good facilities for both us and our 2 dogs. Will definitely visit again.
Car park for the annex is a bit small.
Food was fantastic.Staff ere exceptional.
Room was smallish. Bed not very comfortable.
